As above really, who in the UK is best to sort the chassis/suspension components on my S2? The guy I found has got cold feet, so it'll be a case of stripping the car, replacing all the chassis components and getting the motor out and sent off to Aelred. It'll then be sent to a bodyshop by truck, to be resprayed, then brought back to be reassembled.

Who?
he he - thats EXACTLY what I'm doing at present, its a horrible job and I WILL NEVER DO IT AGAIN!!!!!
Where are you based now Mike? QuattroDan might be worth a shout or of course MRC. Depends where you are...
Based in Warwick, but I'll travel the length of the country to make sure the car will be perfect, as it's likely to be painted in Wales, with the engine built in Swindon and the mapping done in North Yorkshire.
Just spoke to them on the phone, at the start of the conversation I got the impression that they didn't want to do it - however he had a word with Doug and I'm going down next weekend for them to look over the car and decide how much work it'll be...
They also seem keen to do the mapping for it, so hey... Maybe we get a win-win!
MRC do a cracking job - Doug sorted issues with my Coupe at very short notice a few times of past. And Mihnea @ MRC is the best bet for mapping in my opinion, especially if it's a daily road-going car.
You might want to consider assigning overall project control to someone like MRC who can manage any / all outsourced expertise - with people approved by yourself for specialist tasks of course - like the engine build or bodywork painting. Then you only have one contract with one company to get all the work done - MRC's reputation is mighty good, but for the avoidance of any doubt - given your high specification and intense wish list that you document things properly in some sort of scope of works document... Have milestones set and agreed along the way for payments based on work done - NOT time elapsed. Done properly - that will cover you and cover them - and avoids any issues over verbal communication going wrong.
Doug & Mihnea at MRC are 1st class guys - they are obviously very busy as they rarely pop up on the forum. Ain't heard off Mihnea for a long time - hope he is still alive.
Go see the whites of their eyes and then proceed from there when you have talked your plans through.
Hahah - rolling the BIG money boys and the 'cheque book tuners' - fair play to him... Have MRC moved onto Porsches or has Mihnea gone his separate way ?
