    Vibration when cold

Chaps, ive got a bit of an odd problem.

First thing when the car is cold and you accelerate upto about 60-70mph there is alot of vibration, its got worse today. But then stops after about 5 mins of driving and not too sure what is causing it.

I did wonder if it is wheel balance because it is a lumpy knocking.

    Any ideas appreciated.

Might be worth checking the state of the CV boots, joints and driveshafts to see if they're in good fettle. Other thing is prop centre bearing...

handn't thought of checking the center bearing, which could make sense if it was disturbed when I did the subframe bushes.

was thinking the same, damp plug leads (if 3b) or bad plugs just two possibilities

I had a similar problem that went away when i changed alloys, i assume it was a flat spot on one of them.

Im pretty certain its not a mis fire because you get steering wheel judder when it occurs and engine sounds fine.

do you have a loose wheel? heat expansion on wheel then holds it tight?

I checked all of the wheel bolts a week ago and they were all tightened up. But will double check it later

                        That rules that out then!

I would check your tyres for debris. ( I have had a nail or screw in them before that that can be unpleasant at speed)

                        Wheel balancing

                        Flat spot on tyres

                        Loose wheel nuts! Scary

                        Cheers,

                        Steve.

Think I will have it up on the jack this afternoon and try to find out whats going on with this. Would be easier to pinpoint if it wasnt just within first 5 mins of driving,

I had that problem when the seal went on my power steering pump and the fluid was running low. Fixed the seal and topped up the fluid and the problem was gone.

Cheers, another one on my list of bits to check. The small o ring on the PS pump has residue around it so its prob time to get that sorted too.
