Clear somthing up for me guys

    Morning,

Right just to clear something up.

CQ20V legs. do they have smaller bolt holes that go to the hub than proper S2 ones.

When I did the s2 hubs on the old coupe I had to drill the legs out for the bigger bolt so they fitted the hubs snuggly and there was no movement capability so thnk I am right on this one but not to sure. So anyway the same question would be posed for some legs on ebay at the moment from one of our favourite sellers. He has said that they they are the same as the CQ20 ones so fit the S2 "out of the can" so to speak.

I am after a set f legs that I can clean up and build then replace the ones on the car so want a proper S2 as it will be RS2 shockers going in.

Cheers for any help in advance guys.

Come on parts daddies you have the answer

They are different sizes, I think it's more when the car was made than the model.

Strut tubes are different diameter too. So NFU.

There were two sizes CQ and 3B had 12mm bolts then the ABY Coupe and Avant had 14mm bolts

Not all all 3Bs fall into this category, It depends on the chassis number.

Yup cq20v is the smaller type, i changed mine over to S2 struts a few weeks back. Shocks are also different, though i got lucky and found two Koni sports in the S2 struts i bought

I also changed to 5-stud hubs at the same time and noticed the front now has a slightly wider track, i had to adjust both front ball joints to get them into the hubs and re-adjust the tracking as it was way out. I don't know if the difference is in the hubs or strut but there is definitely something different.

                        Azman:
In the states the B4 chassis had the larger strut bolts and housing bolts...so you might have a larger set of vehicles to choose from ( at least for the front legs) than just S2s...(later 80 & 90Qs & CQs?)
