Are koni's + H&R springs the best choice?

Ive heard lots of good things about Koni's + H&R springs on a couple of forums.

i still have a couple of questions.

    1. There are 2 types of sport koni's: the normal sport and the shorter sport version.
If im correct the normal sport version is you dont lower your car more than 35mm and the shorter version is for if you do go lower than 35mm. Am i correct on this?

    2. Im planning/hoping to drive a lot on nurburgring and zandvoort (trackday etc.). I dont want adjustable shocks. Is a set of shorter sport koni's+ H&R springs good enough for the track or do you say not even close??

The car im driving is a sedan 90Q but i dont think that makes alot of difference compared to an S2.

    Tanks

H&R is the best spring if you don't want coilovers, now if Koni or Bilstein is better... I don't know.

bilstein are better for track!! does this mean that comfort is less than the koni's but the bilstein is harder and stiffer which is better in corners?

I that case i will probably go for bilstein.

How about which springs? I have a new set from eibach but some one just offered me a new set of H&R. Is H&R really that much better than eibach? or is eibach just fine only slightly less than H&R?

H&R and Bilstein is the best track oriented combo. They flex less than any other shock and are stiffer.

I've had all combo's on my old Coupe and my preference is Koni as i'm more street than track

                Your so street jamo
IS thecar used on the roads much for commuting? If not then it seems reasonable to go with a stiffer setup, but you shouldnt need to lower more than 35mm.

I think the car will become lower than 35 mm out of it self. The car was orginal 2.3 10v. And is now an AAN setup with tubular exhaust manifold, intercooler, oliecooler, porsche brake , ...... So i think atleast the front of the care will be weighing more than normal. So when i buy the bilstein shocks for an audi 90Q 2.3 10v and use lowering springs for 35mm this lowering will be for a normal car. Mine weighing more will be i guess some what like 5 mm lower i think. I hope it wont be much lower.

H&R springs are the best on track oke but is eibach bad or is it worth to give it a try?

Ditto that, I have tried numerous combinations in my 18 years of ownership and the H&R and adjustable Koni's have been by far the best for the road. Especially British roads!!

I tried the H&R with the bilstein on my 90Q & it was too stiff for every day use & there was no traction on the slippery roads in Greece. I had to go back to the stock springs for more travel & to get the traction.

Bilstein now ships H&R springs with their Sprintline (name changed perhaps? Whichever is the more agressive of the two spring/shocks kits that they sell) kit so that should be enough to confirm that H&R are the way to go.

Aha! They used to make Sportline and Sprintline kits - shipped with some rubbish spring that most people dumped and repalced with Eibachs (speaking from Hot Hatch experience). They now ship all kits with H&R springs.

That would have been the very stiff Bilstein dampers. Knock the konis to minimum damping and the ride is easily considered comfortable for long journeys. Standard springs too soft and causes excessive pitching fore and aft during acceleraton/braking, far less sick making now...
