Great minds think alike I haven't tried it yet as there may be issues with belt length, i also need to check the size of the crank pulley on 3B vs ABY. I don't think brakes will be an issue, if anything it will just take longer to build pressure and recharge the bomb.

I cant finy the thread (From 4+years ago) on how to completely strip the PAS pump. I done one, the BOM pressure is controlled by the relief in the BOM line, and the PAS pump pressure is controlled by a valve in the back end of the pump--when i go home i'll dig up the link, i have saved just about every technical niggle thread in my favourites and have this listed in there

cheers Graham - hows it going mate? Found your extremely useful thread when I was checking how to remove the pump and shouldve posted the link up for reference I might well have a go at refurbing my old pump when its removed! Looks a bit out of my league all that tho!!

Got the pulley off with no fuss at all last night and as it comes from an S4 it has that handy "nut" on the front as per Paul's post which allowed me to get a spanner on to help release the 3x 6mm allen nuts (in the absence of a vice at home) - so I will put that back on with the replacement pump!

          cheers

          Paul

Hi Paul Life is good, we had a newr miss with cyclone Hamish last week, it was a category 5 and passed really close but fizzled out just off the coast. They said we were going to have 280kph winds but it was windier inside (Spag Bol.). The car is going well, it needs new coilpacks but is still being coaxed along. Got a promotion at work and through various projects i have tackled have saved a few million dollars which they are quite pleased with. Weather has cooled down a bit as we head towards winter. Its a mild 25 at the moment. We are going back to the Uk in December for X-Mas for a month--cant wait for that. In the mean time i might be going down to Sydney for work to do PLC proportional control for hydraulics. I got my Instructors licensing for being a college tutor in mechanical engineering and long term i think i'll go and do my degree in engineering. Kendra, Ellis and the retarded mutt are all fine, Ellis who is now 5 month old has discovered the humour and pleasure in farts. He'll become a grand master like his dad for the good old trouser cough.
Hope things are well in Blighty--I was sad for ages while you had all the snow--i miss it loads.
            Take care
