on coupe no, on avant limo maybe.

see the front bushes, the holes are not perfectly round. putting 4 front bushes, and turning them for 90 degrees, could make that possible.

See the diagram. I need to move my rear axle 7mm to the passenger side.

the mounts are aluminium so easy to bore out with plenty of meat on them, just make the 12mm hole into a 26mm hole and bolt the subframe up in the new position.
I'm worried as to why you need to move it though....

On a coupe 3 of the 4 captive nuts are floating, so they do move about to a certain degree anyway. They have maybe half an inch play in them, probably less. The last one is solid so that the subframe can be rotated but not relocated entirely. You only need to bodge one mount.

Why I need to move it?

Because I think that it would improve the handling if the rear wheels are where their supposed to be. And I think that at the moment 17" wheels won't fit properly. Maybe moving the subframe won't give the desired result. It's either try that or sell the car.

Is this for a coupe or an avant?

What leads you to beleive that the subframe needs to be shifted? Are the rear wheels not in line with the fronts? Is this the result of an accident or something?

It's a Coupe. Passenger side rear wheel is not where it should be (it sits too deep in the wheel arch). Probably due to some accident. Yet visually nothing is crooked or bent.

Sell the wheels not the car. Leave the subframe alone, or you will screw the geometry up. Bad idea! I'd be looking very carefully for wishbone damage.

Sometimes they do. Its the body work. If it's just a matter of mm then you need not worry. A slight offset in body work will not affect the handling. As long as the front wheels are in line then this doesn't matter (remember the track is different widths from front to rear).

I found this here on the forum "The 3 mounting points are floating, 1 solid. I had both of my subframes off just few months ago. There are threaded metal plates which are floating inside the chassis."

So if the subframe bushings are changed then the subframe must be realigned. If I only had the bentley manual.

I can confirm Al's comments about the subframe mounts - my rear subframe is off the car ATM.
one is fixed, 3 are floating - i would say the movement is only about 5mm though.

I would also really like to know how to realign my subframe when i reinstall it - anyone know the proceedure?

Not sure how you would do it. I reckon you would need a lift though. Am I right in thinking it would only really be for balancing out the castor on each side? In which case, not entirely essential for the rear.
