i'm going to go and have a look in the garage - IIRC the slots in the subframe only really allowed movement in one direction

Hmmm... thought they were any direction. Well it doesn't matter anyway cos it's always going to be anchored by that one solid nut. So it'll only rotate, pushing one wishbone forwards and one back, or vice versa.

Well neither of my rear mounts have any movement in them, so I'm no longer worried about aligning it properly lol. maybe one is seized or something.
The two front ones on mine can move about 10mm in any direction.

The passenger side rear mount is the odd one out though - its could only move side to side, as i say mine won't budge, neither will the drivers side rear. Heres a pic of the passenger side rear one:

The other three look like this:

Checked my car today and I guess I have to get the car on a lift and check it myself. The passenger side rear wheel is the reason for my cars bad handling.

          As seen on diagram.

It is not your wheel..As you you say it may have had a serious accident and therefore you need to have your chassis checked out on a lazer jig to determine if there actually has been some serious damage inflicted on your chassis at some previous stage.Subframes do not move to the degree you are describing, another, external factor has got to be the cause of this unusual situation.

              Good thinking that man...

Cheap check first...swap the back wheels round and see what happens.

Oh and check the 'ET' on the wheels your moving...must be the same.
