    Knocking from rear strut, ideas?

I have had a knocking noise coming from the back of my Coupe for quite some time. I managed to convinced my very nervous better half to drive me round the car park, with the boot open, and me hanging out the back. I can now safely say that really quite loud knocking is coming from the strut/spring. Have had the wheel off the ground and nothing appears loose etc.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks as always

    Nic

PS The car has been lowered 30mm but did not have a problem until about 6 months ago.

Top mounts or drop links, lift the car in the air and then see if you can lift the strut up and down by hand and listen for clunking. TBH, better off just replacing them as they're a weak point and in the time taken to investigate you could just get them changed, they're cheap for OE ones, £15 each or less.

Mine was doing the same but turned out to be the antiroll bar links replaced them and all is good now.
Just some finishing touches to do now

If you've got Bilsteins fitted, mine failed at the point the piston enters the housing causing a loud knocking.
