Restrictor on RS2 Steering Rack Question

Eventually got the RS2 Rack fitted in the car, what a Ba-----d!!! do you know what the pipe coming down from the brake fluid resevoir is supposed to do?? it joins into the return pipe to the power steering resevoir.

The RS2 rack has a restrictor valve in one of the union banjo bolts, when i got the rack the union with the restrictor in was on the hose to the power stg pump, does that sound right??

    Thanks in advance David.

I think the ABY / ADU had a non-return valve that the 3B / other engined cars didn't
According to the FA both banjo bolts on the RS2 rack should be the same 4D0422529H.

Sorry to bring this old thread back up, but are these valves known to fail?
I've got a problem on my rs2 with steering assistance failing on standstill and full lock steering, hence my question.
