How to change the "bomb" ?

I searched and looked a bit on the forum, but I couldn't find a "how to" thread on how you change the "bomb". Does anyone have a good guide?

    IIRC:

First depressurise the system by pumping the brake pedal till it goes hard
    Jack up passenger side front
Locate bomb under battery tray area
undo hydraulic fixings & pinch bolt on the bomb mounting bush
catch G002000 fluid in a oil pan or something - don't get it in your mouth its rank
    remove bomb
replace with new bomb & copper washers on banjos etc
tighten up hydraulic fixings & mouting bush bolt
    refill PAS fluid
start engine and turn steering wheel side to side a few times to bleed system
top up fluid as neccessary & check for leaks

Drop car down & enjoy not having spongey brakes or the autocheck do your head in every 5 minutes

Its harder if there is a battery in the way, relocating the banjo bolts and getting them to bite is a complete PITA though, i have changed 3 of these and every time its taken almost twice as long to get that dam bolt to bite then to remove and refit the bomb its self. Apart from on the LHD RS2, that was a piece of cake

Instructions above are spot on, but renew fluid with G004000 from the dealers, its about £7/l, you need about 1.5l - 2l if your draining it all etc.

Only thing I would add to that is to renew the little rubber mount doobries on the bomb bracket - they can crust up really badly over time - they are cheap as chips and make for a clean rebuild that you know has fresh rubber.
