I've read that thread after you gave me the tip earlier.. impressive read <:

If I'm to remove that bolt.. I guess I have to drain the hydralic fluid first? right?

I could park the car in the garage.. then remove that bolt.. if I can't se any damage to the seals there or so.. I'll just begin tearing it apart again I guess >>: >: "%¤&"%&"¤%

does it whine on anything other than straight ahead and you get the rushing air/fluid sound or just the air/fluid sound?

It never whines (unlike me), it just gives no assist when turning right and when turning right and holding it gives the sound that I associate with depressurisation (spelling?) - like the sound of air/fluid escaping - BUT no fluid leaks by the looks of it and none missing from the container!

That preload bolt is very sensitive. Have a search on here to see how to properly adjust it afterwords. You shouldn't need to drain the fluid as that wont be under pressure, Just pull it out and see how it looks in there.

Haven't gotten to the steering rack just yet, the plan is to take the gearbox down and then have the steering rack follow it out <: then replace/fit the gearbox again.

I just thought I'd post a little about what I read/found via google about problems with power steering action and basicly it seems like a lot of people has had the same problem and most of them have found that the problem is internal leaks in the steering rack.. with that in mind I've stopped looking for other sources of faults and will switch steering rack as described above.. I'll post back after the job is done (could be a while until I actually care to do it)
