I have an old shock in the garage too if it helps. Compressed will be hard to measure as the spongy bump stop is part of the shock unit.

            Uncompressed is around 500mm
            compressed is around 430mm
Bit difficult to measure trying to push down on the damper whilst getting a measurement with a tape measure

The top bushing as you know is metal with rubber centre and is 32mm side to side
The rear is a rubber oter with a metal inner, which is 38mm side to side
