Hmm well thats the 1st one ever to be shown in black i'm dubious to be honest, as long as you think they are H&R RS2

Colour aside, the coupe springs measure softer than the OE ones, it has to be that the top coils compress under normal operating conditions and thus they become stiffer.

Lloyd, do you have the dimensions of the HnR RS2 springs to compare to the coupe? Fronts only for direct comparison if you can please. Outer helix diameter, wire diameter, free length and no. of coils.

Hi Andy - no problem supplying the data, just will not be until 17th August - sorry.

I've not got the springs here at the moment and will be away on and off for a bit.

No worries, be good to compare and contrast.

At last, a very helpful person has confirmed actual H&R RS2 spring rates.
They are progressive and rated as follows:

                  FRONT 43 N/mm [16.2% stiffer than OEM, 37 N/mm]
                  REAR 55N/mm [5.8% stiffer than OEM, 52 N/mm]

For the avant? Is that the stiffest rate then or the softer? As they are variable rate there's more than one rate that applies, it should be a soft rate (all coils) then a stiff rate (close coils coupled) with a short transfer period as there are two distinct set of coils.

Yep, H&R RS2 springs. This is the quoted rate from H&R direct.
With a little more luck we may have a graph to follow.
                      (not holding my breath though!)

We know the early (soft) spring rate characteristic from the practical test above.

Of course That's not as uprated as we might first have thought
