What is the name of the tool used to unscrew the cross-head plug on the PS pump? It looks like a giant Philips head socket.
Also what size O-ring is used in the plug opening? Mine is starting too leak a wee bit.

Its called a chisel and hammer

you can buy the o-ring and a new plug off the dealer for a couple bucks

Most folks use this or a hammer and chisel as suggested.

An impact screwdriver the correct bit would also be capable of removing the cross head plug.

Search the forum to find the part number of the required seal.

Dont use an ordinary rubber o-ring in the pump...it will blow leaving you stranded somewhere. I found out the hard way!!

Does the pipe running above the pump have to be removed o undo the plug or can it be removed without?

Also, will a leaking plug make steering very difficult even when the fluid is within its markers, or is that indicative if a knackered pump?
