well i think they are expired, they are very old now, already over 4 months.

and the second problem is the power. this 140 mighty HP`s i have are tearing the chassis apart.

A80avant: yes they are powerflex. this material is very very tough, virtually undistructable. they make seals for hydraulics with it, and it can withstand 12499475348593453465760932 tons of pressure per square mm. but my mastodontic 185 nm of torque just cracked it in half.

                Carefull Rok...

The upper pressed arms are 'sided'...did you maybe get them mixed up when you put them back together...

                See here...

If you have the later setup with a pressed upper wishbone (from 8C-P-250 001 onwards) then these are sided parts which are in common with B5 - 8D0 505 323B and 324B. These need a MUCH longer bolt N 102 655 01 on each side.

                From...

My bet is they were not torqued up with them in their normal position on the car... Say you torque them up with suspension at full droop - then when wheels are back in right position (on the ground) you are permanently twisting up the rubber on the bush.

What I meant to do was measure the distance from hub to wheel arch before I took mine apart - but I am a **** and forgot - I'll have to rebuild them loose, drop the wheels, take measurement then up on stands again with a jack to set position on the hub before torquing up the bush bolts.

why would you need that with an Powerflex bush? with these bushes the bushing is "rotating" between the bolt and the steel-sleeve so you wont twist the rubber in these,

                      Respectfully disagree with #8 & 9 above...

                      as follows:

a.) I don't believe a different length bolt is required at the outboard(? in photo) ends of the upper rear arms, forged or welded; &

b.) I don't believe one has to load the suspension prior to tightening the bushing through-bolts when installing the poly's, like you do for OEM's cause the poly's turn on their cores; and the OEM's don't. You therefore can't pre-load the poly's like you would the OEM's if you did not lower the car/raise the suspension first, before tightening.

                      Am I correct?

There is a lot of scoring on the face of that bushing, perhaps it could use an intermediate anti-friction washer like the newer Powerflex front wish-bone bushes have? Would the length of the existing bushing or its' core have to be adjusted as per the thickness off said washer? Probably.

                        To your points -

                        a) correct - only the inner bolt is different between the forged and pressed arms. Pressed ones are longer - but this is inboard... Tis a red herring here I think.

                        b) you might have a point there - depends if they are lubed or whether they just bind up when fully tightened - to your point about some sort of shim / washer... there is plenty enough length on the bolt to cater for that.

The poly bushing kit has an additional washer between the suspension arm and that bush. It may help to fit a larger washer the same diameter as the bushing.
