    FWD B4 Cab - Rear ARB ?

Apologies, but as both my S2 are off the road, does anyone have any info on a rear ARB set up that can be put onto the rear of the '99 B4 V6 Cabriolet ?

It doesn't have rear ARB as standard ?

It was suggested to me that welding strip along the base of the rear axle beam to make it more rigid might work ?

The car handles very well as is, but a little less roll might be no harm.

Wanted to know about the rear before putting an RS2 ARB on the front ?

    Thanks for any input.

The rear beam is like one big ARB, assuming it's the same as the stock 2wd coupe. Strengthening the beam to improve rigidity will have the same effect as fitting an ARB. I'd leave the RS2 front bar off if it was me, get some decent springs on there instead if you want to reduce roll.

      .

      Ditto.

The rear beam is a 'U' shape with a whacking great bar down the middle. Springs are really the only way to adjust front/rear bias.

        Agreed,

but the ride quality on speed ramps and pot holes is very good with the standard springs and shocks, even if I'd prefer it a little lower than the factory standard ride height.

As mentioned, the handling is very good for a standard factory car, but like most of us on here, we always believe we can go one better, and most of the time most of us are right.

So that's why I was keen to investigate the rear ARB issue, even though as you suggest it would be far easier to put on a set of lowered / stiffer springs (plus matching new Konis).

Anyone got any outside the box ideas for a rear ARB upgrade ?

BTW, will A4 rear springs fit on the rear of the Cab?

        Thanks.

Get the rear beam strengthened, that's the best option. Otherwise, a universal bolt on effort might play, or one off another type of car.

Uprated dampers will help a little.
