    Suspension setup

    Hi all!

I have a S2 ABY converted to ADU with wagner reverse inlet manifold, intercooler and exhaust manifold. Too have a 3" SS complete exhaust.

With the new power and torque I feel that my 15 years old suspension isn't very good for the ADU conversion.

I'm thinking in a new suspension setup, but i have some doubts.

The roads in catalonia (spain) are very bad, they're little and bumpy.

    Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9dTG...eature=related

The first doubt is what is better for this roads, normal suspension or coilover?

I was thinking in buy a set of Bilstein's + H&R's. It's a good setup? Or better Bilstein + stock springs? Or better a KW v3 or similar?

I don't wan't the stiffest or lowest suspension setup, I only want the best grip for the car.

Bilstein + HR is about 800€
    KW v3 is about 1200€

    Cheers

Edited: The car isn't a daily car, only a weekend car.

    Koni or Bilstein shocks
    Stock springs
Uprated roll bars, you don't say if it's coupe or avant

id add some solid subframe bushes and poly others. rest as above. good shocks are a must. springs can be changed fairly easily.

            Cunning Mr. J

I've got some onteresting coupe toys on the drawing board, otherwise a Whiteline is a good start or go FARB on the rear if you're doing all the work at once.

HnRs are a bit stiffer than OE, Billies are stiffer than Konis, Konis are adjustable so if they're too stiff you can loosen them a bit.

Mine are 0.5 from hard and they're as hard as you need on HnRs so loads of adjustment there to suit personal taste

Bottom adsjust only. Take the springs off, compress the strut all the way down and then about 10mm further through the seal, you'll feel it engage, then wind it in or out with the 6mm allen on top. Fully stiff is silly silly siily, 0.5 off was acceptable. I used to run 1.0-1.5 with OE spring and that was stiff with them but worked well. 0.5 less on the fronts to help with the understeer is a neat trick

I have a problem with Bilstein! Only have the sprint for the rear axle!

Buy front sport and rear sprint or 2 axle sport?

                          Cheers

When the top springs compress they are, until then they're softer as you discovered
