    A4 B5 Rear Suspension Setup

    Hi Guys,
I have a really anoying rattle from what sounds to be both rear top strut mounts on my MY1998 A4. Has anyone got a VAG type exploded diagram showing the parts in the rear suspension so i can check it out before i remove the struts and immobilse the car?

    Cheers

    Glen.

It'll be the upper wishbone bushes

Rear of B5 is same as rear of B4 (80 saloon or avant) - I posted up some pics before in the suspension section about powerflex bushes.

Get a large screwdriver and see how much the upper bones move when the bushes are shot. There is no 'top mount' to speak of. Check if you have pressed or forged upper arms - I suspect pressed on the B5.

This should help - note your VIN though as there are some variants of the A4 rear.

What I meant was the rear of B4/B5 Q doesnt have McPherson struts with big ol' top mount bush/bearings like on the B2/B3 Q cars.
