Rear track rod mounting- Spinning bolt

I'm just getting finished with the suspension renewal on the car and have the rear track rods to go.

I've mounted them on the subframe, but I can't get the nut on on the outside. The bolt keeps spinning no matter what I try. I can't really hold it with a plier either.
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

I used a 2 jaw balljoint splitter in reverse to push the taper into the seat. Worked for me. Try g clamps too.

As per kieron's post, got to press it in there tight to lock the taper. Also, check for any grease or debris, a taper needs to be nice and clean to work correctly, your finger is an excellent cleaning device, or a rag.

If some of the 'bolt' thread is still there you could grind a slot in to it with a small rotary tool. This will allow you to stop the bolt from spinning while you undo the nut.
