    Suspension settings- word of warning

I have been having a play around with suspension settings at the rear of my coupe. Be very careful if running lots of neg camber. I have set mine(for now) at full deflection on the balljoints, its about 3+ degs!!!!!!!!! It is deadly in a straight line and when cornering gently.

Almost lost it a few times and it scared the hell out of me! Gonna be going back to original settings before treking off to Billing. Dont fancy getting caught in the rain following Lee on the Motorway (auqaplane ville)

Greg ( 90 quattro Coupe) has his set at about 1 degree negative all round IIRC and a bit of toe in all round. I wonder if a bit of toe in would help?

I'm just trying to work out with the suspension if the castor angle would have been up the wall. I was just trying to find a vw/audi forum link which showed Richard ( Billzcat1) rear suspension FYI. seems to have 2Bennet adjustable height coil over shocks etc on it , very nice.

Mmm, nice!! I will be going back to stock settings for the weekend and then will try custom setups afetr that, maybe have a chat with Dialynx for best angles etc.

Castor is not adjustable on the car, not to say that it isnt out tho. It wasnt last time i had it checked and I havent hit the car since then! (unless Mum has when she has driven it)

Found it. These pictures of Richard's rear suspension should be of interest:
Here it is! After being told by Blau they were out of stock of their rear sway bar kit and might not have stock for several months, I set out on an expedition to build my own kit. Now for the hard part: I can't weld, so this was to be an entirely bolt-on setup. The car is an early-build 1990...

Greg, 90 quattro coupe has some settings elsewhere on the forum.

              Tom, David, anyone else,

You both are a bit ahead of me in this area I think. Getting my suspension sorted is my first priority just now.

I want a little negative camber up front and I really would like to increase caster.

As you both know, there is some adjustment for camber at the bottom of the strut but none for caster. So how about up top? Do you reckon one could open up the hole in the strut tower a bit to allow making camber and caster adjustments up top? It would require putting in a camber box or plates I would think.

The front strut is constrained by the drive shaft, the drop link to the ARB and the steering tie rod. Would these prevent making changes up top you reckon?

That was what I was thinking. I think TAS makes some. So do 2Bennett.
