Front wishbone bolts & rear toe adjustment

After the disaster that was my alignment attempt I've got to take some remedial action before another go. Basically the front bushes are trashed, and the bolts to adjust everything are seized solid.

I've just bought some powerflex bushes for the wishbones, so I'm going to have a go at fitting them next weekend. One thing I noticed today, is that I couldn't get a spanner on the nut inside the subframe, so couldn't undo. I'm assuming I need a swan neck spanner. Is it a 17mm that I need? Once off, I assume it's a case of burning out the old bush, then cutting a groove into the inside of the metal sleeve to allow it to compress enough to remove. Do the powerflex replacements go in by hand?

And now onto the rear - how do I adjust the toe? I want to do a quick alignment by eye/tape measure as I can't get the cash for the alignment for another month or so. The toe is currently set at about 2 degress each side! So, does anyone have a photo of the rear suspension with a big arrow pointing to the toe adjustment bolt(s), plus a quick guide on how to do it. It doesn't look like the front setup so I'm not sure how to do it. I also need to know exactly where to empty an entire can of plus-gas!

    Thanks in advance guys,
    Matt

for the fronts you will need an swan neck yes, change the bolts at the same time. and torque them.

rear, just undo the nut on the opposite side of the bolt, then just turn the bolt clockwise/counter-clockwise to adjust in /out

Awesome. Thanks mate. I've no idea where that is, so I'll print it out and crawl underneath with the picture!

Thats how I do it, some people drill a pile of holes or use a holesaw as a less antisocial method (but less fun as you dont get to burn something ) I believe the powerflex bushes just press in, however its easy enough to make a tool out of a length of threaded rod, some nuts, washers and old bushes for less than £10.

From memory there is a hole in the subframe so you can fit a socket and extension onto the nut.

If your unlucky the bolt will be seized solid inside the tie rod, See thread below if you need to cut them off and replace...
