Suspension / Wheel bounce

My car has progressively developed a strange "bounce" from the front wheels.
Upon deceleration or braking should you hit a bump on the road the front left wheel goes into an un controllable bounce which only stops when speed is reduced.
The un sprung part of the suspension and wheel seems to be involved in this wheel hop phenomenon.
The car is fitted with Konis and H&R's springs and I assumed it was the shocks.
At the same time i replaced the top mounts and removed the konis for inspection.
The konis seem to be ok after a test and speaking to the local agent for koni.
The konis wher originally set on a very soft setting so after the inspection i turned them up harder to 3/4 stiffness and put them back on.

I now have the same effect but much worse.
Any advice ?

Is it possible to reverse the inserts and put the LH insert into the RH strut and repeat the test? It does sound like undamped motion.

Could it be that the top mounbt retainers have failed in some way?

I have the same symptom as this on exactly the same damper spring combination.

Mine don't sound as bad as you describe but like yours it's only on one side.

I was going to try adjusting the shocks I think mine are set at one turn at the moment.
I have pro mounts but Ill investigate these to.

The topmounts wher changed to 034's Delrin version. Retainers are new and fine.
Logically it really should be an undamped motion. Hard to understand cause the Koni shock behaved just as the koni agent said it should when i had it out of the car.
