    S2 Avant subframe bushes?

    Gents,

I need to replace the front subframe bushes on my S2 Avant as they are shot to pieces.

My question is, are there any alternatives on the market apart from the Audi ones?

    Cheers

    Paul

Superflex make poly ones, and kev(bambridge) makes aluminum ones

One thing i've learned we are way behind the Scandinavians!

I have a full set of alloy ones from Kev, I only used the fronts and the difference was quite shocking tbh !

Pm me if you want them, I'm happy to sell the fronts seperate top the rears, if not there going on ebay !

A huge improvement Jamo, as to be expected by replacing anything that can move with something that cannot !

The car was hugely positive through the twisties and under braking felt great, the bushes we removed looked fine but it just shows how much better solids are.

They do increase the noie levels though, mainly the gearbox in mine as it was silent beforehand and a touch noisy afterwards, however when I broke the car I did find the gearbox rubber mounts had been over tightened and this may of had a effect on that.

You will feel the difference thats for sure, I can't say it spoilt mine as the 3" un silenced system did a good job of that already lol

Personally I rate them very highly and could quite easily live with it

@Jamo - I have a full set of alloy SF bushes sitting here looking for a new home. Never used... not yet anodised is the only wrinkle. These came from Ben's group buy of many moons ago. Yours for £75 plus postage.

I can't imagine nylon ones will be any different to the alloy ones in terms of noise etc..

I have supaflex nylon ones on the back only of my coupe and there is no increase in noise at all, but a stiffer more controller rear IMO. (I did add nylon wishbone bushes at the same time too)...

                      Cheers,

                      Steve.
