4 Wheel Alignment - Miles Tyres, Oldbury nr. Bristol

Forgot to mention this but I had a 4 wheel alignment by Miles Tyres in Oldbury-on-Severn, just outside Thornbury near Bristol, just 5 miles from junction 14 M5 (lost yet ). A nice little find by a mate who works at teh power station down the road

Had the rack centred and they spent an age getting everything as close to perfect as possible (2+ hours!). The results were better than any other place I've used, they're the first garage in 6 years who have got it driving in a straight line! Cost was reasonable for the level of work that was done! Shame I undid their handywork in the snow

As a result they come highly recommended from me, they're proper car people and loved the S2 and I'm sure that they'd happily discuss what you require.

Just to mention that most of the stuff under my car is new or refurbished so glides as smooth as silk, if you've not touched your car and think it might be seized then speak to them to make sure they can help and can spend the time it'll take to sort the seized parts, some garages can be funny but I'm sure they'll go out of their way to do the job absolutely spot on (2 hours to do an easy car so I guess you're looking at 3+ for a car that's not in the same fettle.)

Just been back to Miles today following my midemeanor in the snow The guys there spent about an hour oon the car, checked it all over for me, checked the wheels for balance, true and roundness, set the tracking up again and were all enthusiastic about a 300bhp beast Again, worth getting in touch with them if you're vaguely local

Those nuts are 65Nm! Worth getting a copy of the service manual and cecking all torques are correct. Also, nylocks should be replaced A small price to pay for peace of mind.

It dropped out the hub because they put the pinch bolt in before inserting the shaft of the balljoint.

Yeah, i cant believe how lucky i was (i think it was august time it happened) i'd driven all the way from wales to go to a trackday in bedford i got to almost loughborough doing my usual 77mph i came off the motorway and stopped in a carpark to ring a mate for directions to his place near coalville. as i reversed out of the parking space on full lock (hadnt even moved a cars length) The steering went weird and i heard a feint scraping noise and got out and had a look. :O
Luckily i was able to get hold of alex (stiglet) who was able to pop down in about 10 mins to lend tools and a jack and i reassembled it.

Later that day i had a firm word with the garage and when i got back they replaced both front ball joints with careful supervision (the one that fell out was ruined) and re-aligned for free. I have to say they did a good job with the alignment but theyve cooked their goose with me now.

How much did your alignment come to Andy?

Full setup was £100 but the chap did everything including castor off the ball joints, camber front and rear and toe front and rear, took a very long time but he got it spot on, first garage ever to get it driving straight!

Just been back to Miles today to get them to look at my BM, as ever the service was friendly and competent. They fitted me in at 30 mins' notice and then checked all the brakes and tyres on the car as well as rebuilding one of the brakes, and cleaning it, at my request.

I think I'll speak to them and see if we can organise a 4 Wheel Alignment day down there, might be able to secure a decent price for 5 cars say.

thats where i'll be going when I've fitted my last round of suspension goodies
