No mate, just unbolted the banjo union above it and moved it to the side. Job took ten minutes tops and is sealed ok, after the run with the two Grahams on Saturday, if it was going to leak it would of then, so am happy with it..

When i did mine i took the whole thing off and put it in a vice.
      Two reasons:
      1. Was doing the thermostat and hoses under it.
      2. There is an identical plug on the bottom of the pump that may or may not also be leaking!

I think that they said it was a dealer only part and it was £900 for the part. It was leaking from the same place as all of yours, i only had the car 5 months and wasn't aware that a local garage would screw me. At the time i trusted the garage for its word however i learnt from a ex-employee that the garage had not been doing as much work on the car as they claimed. Paid for new spark plugs but they just cleaned the old ones, oil changes they just drained it and filled again (no flush) and the final straw was telling me that the car needed new fuel pipes and a pair of rear drive shafts to pass the MOT but 3 years on and never been mentioned by the other garage who are VERY particular but honest.

If you come to Skye just go to MacRaes VW they have 2 audi trained techs and trust me they know audis very well. Back when i had the problem with the vacuum pipes they told me the problem before i got a chance to tell them what it was just by hearing the car.
