    Shock Shaft Diameter

As title please, just wondering what the shaft diameter is on the front and rear struts for the S2 and whether it varies on other models. I know that the inverted Billies will be a lot larger, would be interested to see the top thread on a set if anyone has some lying about.

rusty sort of on topic but read some old posts of yours about using 4x front springs on the coupe.

did you ever do it in the end?

also ive got 2x sets of avant springs. my hr springs are coming off (500 mile old).

          my coupe is too low

Front avant shocks would be good.

Andy, I never did this but there's no reason it won't work, the rear of mine is uber low on the HnRs as it sits level with no weight in the back!

s2 (and rs2) have 55mm front thread, other B4 models have 50mm thread.

Ah no, that's the internal diameter of the body. I want the diameter of the shiney bit that moves for different shocks.

                      aha i see.

i can measure this on a monroe reflex front strut, but you want to see if there is a difference in the front and rear struts for coupe?

remember that you need to be able to have the rubber cover beneath/under the top perch, on my billies there is a special thing for this, the thread is approx 4-5mm higher up than the piston, and between piston/thread there is an place for the rubber to sit, hope you understand me, hard to describe in english, lol
