RHS H&R spring fouling brake line

    Hi,

Just fitted H&Rs and Konis over hte last 3 weeks (along with complete refurb of bushes, sub-frame etc) and noticed at the weekend that the RHS H&R (29939 VA(F)) touches the brake hardline at the top of the wheel arch. Have down a trawl of the forum without avail: anybody else had the same problem?

This is with the car in the air and may not be an issue as the car sits on the road, when the wishbones level out and move the strut out slightly.

If it's still an issue, I'll have to re-site the hard line. Any advice welcome.

    Cheers,

    JB

    JB,

I had an issue with this a few years ago when I fitted my AP's and I re routed the brake line just to be on the safe side, its unlikely to have an effect unless your near enough air bourne though.

Thanks Greg, glad to know it wasn't just me going round the bend (again!)

I just unclipped the line from the plastic catch (after loosening the catch first by pushing a screwdriver to bend the plastic back) and gently bending the line downwards and backwards to safer territory

I may even fit a clip later to ensure no snagging. The near-side is not a problem BTW as the hard line exits the suspension turret in front of the spring.

Worth checking your set ups if you have the same problem.

          Cheers,

Yeah I fitted a self tapping clip to retain it.
