    urS4 Steering Re-enforce

    Hey,
So I've heard a lot about these cars, especially 92-93, needing the steering rack re-enforced. My is clunking on the left side when you first turn the wheels when your not moving. I was told by someone that I need these special brackets. Does anyone have an idea of what this may be? Or know of where to get the brackets?

When I was reading up on them I read that the bulkhead (firewall??) around the mounting points for the rack could deevelop a crack or cracks. I think it was said that the earlier cars (92/93) tended to be less prone to this than those built later.
Hope that isn't what you're experiencing as it's supposed to be a bit of a pig to rectify.

Someone with more knowledge than myself will be along a bit later to maybe tell you different though.

Get someone who knows what they're looking at to take a look or cop a feel of everything (steering/front suspension)whilst you rock the steering back and forth before laying out for parts you may not need.

        UrS4boy,
I'm sure they are, I'm just having trouble getting used to the layout of the forum. But I was on there a bit last night and I'm starting to figure it out.
