About 900kg. Look at Raymor's Avant thread, he corner weighted it, front of an Avant and Coupe will be comparable.

Weight distribution was 56% Fr 44% Rr and total weight 1545, that makes the front 865kg approx.

Weighed my mates crx 2 nights ago-650 fr, 320 rr; 970 gross. (this was with him in the car)

Will have to get my 3b down and see how heavy it is out of curiosity.

Aye, different approach to the attainment of speed. That's heavier than I thought for a CRX tho.

If its a MK2 it will be anywhere from 840-1030kg depending on year, engine, options. I had an 88 jap import that was the lightest made at 840kg, would out corner an Audi any day.

It is a CRX sir (import) with a b16 in it. It had aircon which has been removed excluding the components under the dash and the rear interior stripped.

It is "interesting", handles like a go kart, corners like it is on rails in the dry, I don't like the light back end, crazy snap oversteer potential. It feels like it is going 2x as fast as it is at all times and above a tonne it is rather disturbing.

I have been giving him a hand occasionally with the new engine he is building; a b18/16 (undecided yet) turbo, I have to say their heads are nice.

Bloody hell that's a good weight. I put my avant on a weigh bridge on tuesday at a scrap yard I had 3 cats in the car and me(plus sub two amps, components heavy duty wire+a few other bit, nothing heavy) It was 1760kg I weight 115kg so my avant with half a tank of fuel weighed 1645kg now that's a lot of mass
Just some finishing touches to do now

Quick tip for the AC removal, when you remove the glove box the blower motor is on the left, the AC cooler box sits in the middle, and the box on the right contains all the the flaps and heater element. Beauty of it is you can unbolt the AC box and bolt in a plastic ducting from a non AC car. Scrap yards are full of 88-92 vintage civics

You do have to watch the snap oversteer, corners on rails with loads of grip, then snap your doing the elbows in the air dance. It is very predicable, and confidence inspiring when you get used to it. In all honesty i've had more fun driving CRX's than Audi's

Yeah but take away 10kg for the cats and about 60kg for the stereo setup and you're back down to 1575kg

I had 100kg of stereo in the boot of my old golf
