rear strut cap P/N

just want to check the part number for the rear strut caps - need to buy two but the part numbers are confusing. I have two new ones here which are too small for my rear struts

From my copy of the FA, I get 431 412 047 B but this is also listed against the ABY front strut, whihc is known to be 55mm not 50mm diamter
there is 823 412 047 listed agsinst the 7A front struts , although these should surely be the same as the rear ones at 50mm?

God knows what I have been given by the stealer as there is no part number on them. I wasn't aware there were any struts with a smaller diameter than the rear ones on a ccoupe. can anyone let me know the right ones for the rear struts?

From when I recall doing the shocks on my coupe, the original front housings were smaller than the rears as I had to get new shocks to fit my coilovers.

I had coilover struts from a 3B and my 7A shocks only fitted on the rear, the front ones were too small and the cap was smaller obviously. I had to buy some 3B shocks and 2 new caps for the front.

Just re-read what you and I had both written.

When I swapped struts, the S2 spec ones had caps the same size front and rear, the CQ ones had smaller struts up front, the rears being the same size as the S2 ones. This is why the same part number is listed for the front and rear for the S2s.

I can only presume the new caps you have are for the fronts on a CQ...
