urS6 Steering Column into an S2 Coupe???

One of the flaws of the S2 IMO is the non adjustable steering column. Has anybody here ever fitted an adjustable steering column. As you may know I also have a urS6, the adjustment is excellent, you get axial movement in and out but you also get an independent tilting mechanism. Many tilt and turns are far more simplistic that this. I'd like to have a go at swapping them over just to see but maybe I'll just wait to see if any BTDT's or guidelines turn up?

I thought this the other when taking the S2 to work after a couple of weeks of not driving her.
The steering position is pants in the 80's/90's/Coupes etc, compared to being able to get it just right in my C4 A6.

I too await a run-through....if it's ever been done before.

Couldn't agree more, I've found the coupe driving position to be a bit crap. I've intended to mod the seat base since I got it but by dropping it I'll make another problem. My knees are against the bottom of the wheel, so what I really want is for the wheel to come out a bit, up a bit, and rotate the top down a bit towards me to keep it pretty vertical.

Hopefully someone'll have tried this, but I wouldn't mind giving it a go. Is it a big deal to get an airbag steering wheel off without doing harm?

you can get the airbag part off by hitting some railings at about 40mph

Having the Electric seats on my old B4 actually made the seating position lot better than the Current position in my UrS6 with manual seats(EL seats are waiting to be installed).

Allthough I sometimes have to drive the regular B4 TDI with manual S2 seats and I'ts near impossible to find a good seating position. Best idea would be to have Electric seats and the UrS6 steering column.
UrS6 or S8 Electric Recaros with memory function would be great. Or maybe why not fit S8 steering column with memory function aswell?

TBH I've never sat in an S8, that electric steering column with memory sounds excellent. I'm gonna see if I can find an S6 manually adjustable column and see what it takes to fit it. Agree that's it's a combination of seat + steering wheel to achieve an optimum driving position.
