I did every bush, every oil seal, new cv joints, new bearings, new brake pipes, new mountings etc etc. oh and got everything powder coated. I suggest that basically you do anything thats going to rot/wear or leak!

pretty much acidburn said, through I went with a 22mm arb from front a coupe and solid subframe bushes along poly or nylon every where else
also worth thinking about is a V8 torsen, thinking might try getting one in america when there unless one come up cheap here

whilst the cars up in the air its worthwhile checking what the underside is like, if possible sourcing good heatshields etc.

Every nut/bolt for the underside cost me £110 first time round and remember some of them are no longer available now.

Uprated bushes are a good idea, por15 is your friend as well, basically just look at every component and think, how long did audi manage to keep it in one piece and does anyone do a better upgraded version i.e. bambridge.

Yup the nuts and bolts add up pretty quick, much nicer (and safer) having new ones to re assemble with though.

I think acidburns list is fairly comprehensive

There's more but it depends how mental you want to go.

full list (or as much as I can remember)?

                  rear:

                  Rear diff
                  mounts - clean up/paint
                  diff - check backlash
                  rear subframe mounts
rear arb - uprate to whiteline
                  rear tie rods
rear wishbones - seam weld clean up etc
                  drop links
                  coilovers/shocks/springs
                  rear bearings
                  rear abs sensors
stud conversion if your that way inclined
                  uprate the rear discs/callipers
                  rear braided brake lines
                  rear diff mount (big one)
                  side diff mounts
                  new nuts/bolts
new prop center bush whilst your there
                  rear exhaust hangers
                  handbrake cable
                  rear ball joints
                  diff fluid
                  cv joints
                  cv boots
                  diff seals (diff fluid bolt)
                  top mounts
hub to strut bolts (some are nla think 3b)
hub carrier to ball joint nut/bolt
                  prop bolts
refresh the linkage with new boots (around £27 last time I checked from audi)
new brake/fuel lines (very much recommend this as its around £40 for new brake/fuel copper lines for the car)

                  front:

                  subframe bushes
                  refresh the subframe
                  wishbone bushes
                  ball joints
                  track rod ends
                  track rod adjusters
steering arm adjuster (the bits that bolt onto the rack)
whilst engines out/access good replace the bracket that holds steering arms to rack
                  top mounts
                  braided lines
                  usual brake upgrades
                  abs sensors
                  gearbox mounts for on subframe
                  droplinks
                  rs2 farb

I'm not going into engine/clutch/box issues unless people want me to lol.

It all quickly adds up as i'm finding out.

                    Just do everything

Biggest thing I can recommend as I have BTDT is check for rust - anywhere you see a bit in the underseal i can almost guarantee theres 10x as much underneath it nearby as it spreads out unnoticed...
