    pulling left under braking

My S6 has never been the best handling car, but it's gradually getting better. Got the brakes sorted (AP 6 pots), Bilstein/H&R on the rear and the Sachs kit on the front (soon to be replaced to match rear), but I've still got the same problem I've always had - it sometimes pulls hard to left under braking.

It doesn't always do it, and when it does it's correctable with the wheel. Question is - what could be causing it?

As I'm going to replace the front springs/dampers soon I'd really like to get this sorted at the same time.

    Anyone had this before?

    Cheers,
    Tom

Suspension bushes worn on one side, ball joint excessive play, steering rack play?

Road camber - try braking on the other side of the road and see what happens.

Left front suspension takes all the loads on roundabouts, that will add up over time to uneven wear. Worth getting it all checked over for wear and alignment by someone you trust

Theres not much to go wrong on an S6 really, apart from the above check the arb bushes where they go through the bottom arm,i would say if they were badly worn it could possibly allow the bottom arm to move back and forward slightly under acceleration/braking.Also check the steering rack is secure,i have heard there was a recall on these where there was a strengthening plate attached to the end of the rack to stop it ripping through where it mounts to the inner wing.

Ha ha - I've just completely stripped down the calipers, cleaned the pistons, replaced the seals, fitted new AP floating discs and Endless pads. They now provide some serious stopping power

That's interesting - I certainly wouldn't have looked at the rear for a while.

What was wrong with them? Adjusted incorrectly?

Ok - will check all that. Cheers

Wasn't there a place near Bristol you've recommended before? Not sure whether it'd be better taking it someone who knows Audis rather than an alignment specialist?

All Audi for mechanicing - where I purchased my car.

Either Protyre in Bristol or Miles Tyres out by Thornbury for alignment.

Hideously corroded! My car had been lowered and running urS6 wheels and the geometry hadnt been adjusted to suit. The were correctly adjusted just not for the current setup, if your with me.
