How does one get the OEM bush out of the tie rod? It looks like there's a metal sleeve on the outside of the bush which is pressed into the tie rod end, I expected with about 2T of pressure it would slide out, but so far it's just destroyed the bush by stretching. Putting pressure on the sleeve to press the whole thing out resulting in nothing. Perhaps i need to get a 10T press?! This is really getting f***king tedious!

I twisted the centre out, by gripping the centre in the vice and rotating the tie rod around until the rubber broke.
Then I used a hacksaw to cut the outer of the bush and it just popped out. Be careful that you dont cut into the tie rod itself.

Thanks - its that metal sleeve that threw me, tried pushing the rubber out first and then the sleeve, no luck so started hacking away at the rubber.
I have a hole saw + arbor set so i think i'll deploy that to take out the core and then hack saw as per your method

Sooooo.... first one worked a treat, i used a hole saw to destroy the bush - took alot longer than expected and used loads of WD40 cooling the bit down. A buzz with the reciprocating saw took out the bush sleeve.
Second one... quicker and neater until I gave a bit of full throttle on the saw and made a nice 1mm cut into the brand new tierod itself
Question now is whether to fit the thing or re-use the old one...AUDI - saving Dad's from minivans since 1994

...and to conclude in case anyone else references this thread... the B5 tie rod is too long for the S2/RS2 avant, the rear of the wheel will be hanging out the arch with the amount of toe-out.
Back to square one
