Yesterday I tried to mount my new set of koni on my RS2, but the shock is about 3mm shorter than the origional shock. When mounted it sits loose. Is it possible that it should be mounted with a sort of cap on top of the damper?

I think you need to shim it up with large washers. -
At the front only and between the top of the bamper and the screw-on strut cap, right? I had this problem fitting mine last weekend.
You'll need to get some washers >3mm thickness and the same diameter. Error404 said he had some spare, worth a PM
