Not sure on the avant but IME on the coupe, the ABS sensor plugs are in the car so when you pull them through the chassis / body, attach some wire or string to them (that is also attached to a part of the inside of the car) and then it makes re-fitting easy as you just pull the string through and it routes the wires correctly. I've left the wires in the car for any future maintenance, should provide much confusion to anyone else too

when i did my wheel bearings a couple months ago i used a 10 ton bench press i got from machine mart did the job a treat. when pressing out the bearings one half tends to get pressed out of the bearing leaving the inner race on the hub and lots of ball bearings all over the place. not wanting this to happen when pressing the hub through the new bearing i pressed the new bearing onto the hub first then pressed the hub and bearing in to the other thingy bit with the abs sensor in. my bearing kits also came with circlips which wasn't required

The bit I found fiddly on the b4 rear end was getting the grommet around the abs cable to sit into the the underside of the car before it goes under the seats. It was ok to fish through, but Andy's suggestion is a good one.

Sucks doing the same job twice, still it will all be worth it when it is all done properly.
