What are the various options available and rough prices?
Interested in all except KW / V2 which were withdrawn from production as they used incorrect front shocks from a golf and were prone to failure allegedly.
couldnt agree more. my old pearl green s2 came on kw varients and it handled amazingly, you couldnt unglue the back end.
the front shocks were feked. in the end i took it out and went to gsf to see if they could match up (would of had to send the koni insert to holland for re-gas) and they gave me the closest match.......from a golf
Surely the golf weighs in the same as an s2.....right????
All avant owners I know which had KW's, don't have KW's any more..
I would not recomend them at all, and I've been in several avants with KW v2 and v3's.
I notice KW advertise for a "clubsport" version these days, but I dont know anyone who have tried that set on a avant yet.
I also would not recomend "cheap" coilovers for your car. They can't manage the power/tourqe and the heavy weight from a lighly tuned I5 over time. And I suppose you would like to use your car ands its powers from time to time.
What I can recomend is: H&R, Bilstein and upwards. My opinion is that H&R is the cheapest for quality and longlivity.
You can get comfy ride with coilovers too.. Just choose the right set and springs

Why did they change? I know Breitling wanted to change also. KW V1 come highly rated in the U.K
very very future plans, but i was going to go for custom made with bilstein shocks. There is bilstein shop in Greece that supposedly is one of the best around for suspension and can do many combinations. Billman has more input on him.
Ive ran fk's on my golf's and they have all been good, but golfs and audi's differ greatky as we all know! Im shocked to hear about the kw's always thought they would have been great for the money! I was looking at them for my avant but will wait to hear feedback on them as well.
where else could you look? what about tein? ive heard good stuff from people running them on jap stuff but nothing from VAG land?
