    Quicker steering idea

I was thinking a while back about easy ways to make the steering quicker after talk of quick racks etc, and then after fitting my ABY rack i'm actually pretty happy with the speed of the 2.6 turn rack.
Then I was putting my wheels back on yesterday evening and had a thought - if you wanted quicker steering what about reducing the length of the steering arm on the strut? Less axial movement required in the rack to provide the same rotational change at the strut.
This would also have the advantage of increasing the steering effort which is also drastically needed IMHO. Thoughts?

Interesting idea, we need a spare pair of struts to experiment with.

It would work but you'll need to consider enlarged internal rack spacers to prevent turning the wheels too far for the driveshafts and also any Ackermann geometry changes.

It has been done on motorgeek a few times, stops were put in the rack to prevent it going to far in one version. Also whilst the arms were shortened, they were also rotated inwards to gain more room for rubber. There have also been some done with two arms a couple of inches apart and spherical bearings were used on the rod and and so could be height adjusted with shims to sort bump steer. Timmy also moved his rack back and up to help with bump steer.
