by the looks from KATE you can just use the ABY pressure hose from the pump to the rack, should be a straight fit

            Update to this.
I have come up with a solution which involves modifying the PAS pump housing to make the internal flow control valve in the pump adjustable. I have toyed with the idea of playing with different springs, but given that I previously found that the "sweet spot" in the flow control adjustment is so slight it would require a LOT of trial and error with different springs and shims to get it right.
So I am currently drawing up some plans so Kev can machine me some bits to make this work. From that I will be able to use my adjustable pump to determine a nice spring rate / preload setting which can then be easily replicated with an off-the-shelf spring and shims to be a cheap drop-in mod to a stock PAS pump, for anyone who fancies a more sporty feel to the steering

in the PAS pump, in place of the OE flow control valve spring

                    ahh i see
so that means the pump needs to be taken apart...

but if you do that, then the pump needs a complete seal replacement to be sure, as well as a pressure test, right?

Yes Vas you would need to take the pump apart to fit it. Always wise to replace the seals but not essential IMHO. I have taken mine apart about 3 times and not had any problems.

With the big cross head screws I think a hex head and a compression washer / dowty seal would be better for sure, but the pump would need machining so the seal had a nice seat, or maybe try and find a conical socket set screw in the right thread. Not really looked into it as mine don't leak at the minute

my experience is that once taken off, if not screwed back down from a proper steering pump refurb shop, or loctite use or proper tool to get into that 'X' cap they leaked so far.

Im just saying if this develops into a nice mod, it would be best to make sure that all parts or methods used would be ideal so that people dont create more problems in their system rather than improving it.

Either your are tremendously strong into screwing back that tap properly( took 2 of us to make sure its in place!!), or you are very lucky!!

OK I now have the prototype for the adjustable PAS pump in my hands. I'll be stripping my existing pump and testing it after ADi.
I could also do with a local volunteer at some point to test the prototype on a car with a standard rack since mine has my "sport" rack now fitted.

If anyone is interested please let me know
