    Four wheel tracking nonsense

OK got the car tracked up at protyre on the A10, drove 30 miles started pulling to the right. Took it back they put it on there machine came out and said dont know whats happened but the camber is miles out you will have to buy cambolts so we can adjust it up properly? They got it as best they could and said see you later?

Any one got any ideas if they are pulling my c*** or if I do need these illusive items?

    Is it an S2?

S2s can have the camber set off the lower ball joints or the strut to hub bolts. It even details this on the computer screen at Protyre.

    Monkeys if it is!

They can also set the castor off the lower BJ as it can swivel slightly, takes a bit of doing though!

It is indeed an S2 with all new wishbones etc so should be quite easy for them to adjust MMmm, some people eh!

My experience with various alignment places has been similar to yours. It's a case of having the right tool to do the job and asking a monkey to operate it.

When you find someone who understands what they're doing stick with them.

Protyre down here are usually pretty useful so perhaps just go back, tell them how to adjust it and get it all sorted. If you have the front strut to hubs bolts loosened then make sure they're tightened to teh correct 110Nm +90deg, otherwise they might come loose (like mine did at the 'ring!).

              if your car lowered?
At -30mm mine is borderline able to set factory camber at the balljoint as it runs out of adjustment just over -1.0deg, so I have -1.5deg all round.

As Rusty says there is at least another 2 degrees to be had either way from slackening off the strut to hub bolts and adjusting the strut / hub attitude if need be, i just told them to give me a tad more negative camber

Good point, if it's more -ve than spec then so be it, just make sure that it's equal, same goes for the castor, having mine set equal on both sides made the car drive in a stright line for the first time ever, shame I tapped a kerb in the snow about 3 weeks later and had to have it all done again!

We have a Protyre here and I would not go to them if you paid me!!! They were meant to have done the camber on an old car of mine and never adjusted it althought they were good enough to charge me for it! W****rs

Sounds like a seized calliper to me...

Interesting, are you thinking the back left caliper maybe, would that cause it to pull the back end across?

Without seeing or driving the car, that's just one option that it could be. The seized calliper doesn't work as efficiently and this can steer the car a little. Difficult to diagnose without being there though I'm afraid.

Thanks anyway will get the mechanic to check it out, just worried something might be about to come off under hard braking
