Did you tighten the lower ball joint nuts when the car was on the ground.

If not, chances are the ball joints have moved.

did they not provide a before and after printout? I've never had any problems at their Micheldever branch and they deal with some pretty special cars too.

Does sound odd though, prob best to seek another place to sort

what a pita, what equipment do they use? If they have the hunter system like featured here:

Then it says quite clearly what can and cant be adjusted and how.

Saying that, the last time i used one of there garages they said they couldn't do the camber as they didnt have the tool to make the adjustments once the 3 lower ball joint bolts where lose. Apparently the weight of the car on the wheels makes it very difficult to move the wheels out or in. Any one else been told this?
It was only .5deg out so I wasn't to worried and they wanted ÂŁ22 per corner for adjustment so it was worth not having it done..

I've had 4 wheel alignment done on my car twice at Protyre in Bristol. The first time I was told the rear upper wishbone bushes were too worn to adjust the rear but he set the front up. He knew what he was doing and the car drove well. I took it back again over a year later once I had replaced almost every bush on the car. It was quite a young guy who did it and I told him everything was free so would be easy to adjust and that I wanted it set up so it was the same on both sides, not just within the parameters. I foolishly trusted him to do this and paid without really checking the report, he also told me that the front camber couldn't be adjusted. I found that the car pulls to the left all the time, it vibrates far too much between 60 and 70mph and as the camber is at zero degrees it doesn't corner like it should either. The thing that really annoyed me was that I had replaced both steering arms so the adjuster nuts were perfect and the threads well greased. Somehow he has managed to round off both the adjuster nuts to the extent that a spanner can never be used on them now. I will never use them again.

******s, write to them and demand a refund. Thats the least they should do. If they dont then send them a bill for replacement parts plus labour.
If they ignore you get the small claims court involved.

That was in 2007 so I might have left it a bit too long to take it back! At the time I was out of the contry for a month after I had it done followed by 3 months away from home so as much as it annoyed me I just didn't find time to take it back. I also didn't notice the steering arm adjusters had been attacked by an idiot until almost a year later. Their current radio advert really annoys me though as it seems to suggest they know what they are doing. I need to find someone else in Bristol who can do 4 wheel alignment correctly.

Thanks for the heads up 80Quattro !

Looks like I shall be looking for someone else to do mine other than Protyre Bristol.
Mine is going to need doing in about 4 weeks time.
Tempted if I cannot find anyone else local to go and have a 'chat' with the protyre dudes and tell them what I want and what I do not !
