I just bought some Bilstein shocks for my S2. I'm thinking to buy some new springs also, but i'm not sure which i should buy? Will it be fine with my standard springs?
I really recommend trying them with standard springs. It's a good comprimise.
If you're doing track work then H&R do some lower springs, but people seem to find them too stiff for regular roads.
Rusty (I think it's Rusty) on here is also meant to be doing some sports springs at some point that should be a good comprimise - I'll be after them when they're out, but until then, I'm sticking with Billies + stock.
Obviously you might try them with stock and decide I'm completely wrong, but then you can just buy some stiffer springs - better that than waste money on new springs and decide to go back to stock.

I am running stock springs on mine with the billys. It is an excellent compromise, firm but will rarely bottom out. It is also very composed on bumpy A roads etc. If you are doing a lot of motorway miles or track use you will get away with H&R's, anywhere else it will be crashy and harsh.

I went from stock shocks and springs to bilsteins with H&R's. Great on track, awesome on the road, so i changed to adjustable koni's with H&R's, which is even worse than the bilsteins, far more crashy on normal roads.
I'm sorry but H&R's and Billies are definitely in no way crashy or harsh. Seriously.
If they are, I wonder if you have a worn part somewhere else on the car.
From tests, we've seen that the RS2 H&R's are softer initially than RS2 springs and then when loaded right up only say 10%? stiffer (post is on here somewhere) Main difference is that they are lower, which if you have lots of speed bumps/carry heavy loads might be a pain as you could catch a cat or two.
Anyone is welcome for a ride in the passenger seat to see for themselves that this fair feedback.

Having had H&R + Billies on mine i'd be interested in the passenger seat ride to see for myself

Having recently made another change to the suspension setup on my car - swapping OEM wishbone bushes for powerflex - I thought I should update/qualify my previous post report.
Powerflex have made a significant difference to the ride quality. On the positive side, there is much better steering and braking feel. Car feels much tighter under hard acceleration/deceleration. On the negative side, the car is not as nice to drive over poor surfaces - I would even say it feels a bit harsh. There is now some cabin vibration when driving over poor surfaces, which was not present before.
It's great on smooth roads, but going for a drive on B roads it is not the joy it used to be, driving slowly along. It's noticeable enough that my wife asked me what was wrong with the car! Going fast though is much better... Just can't do that all the time
[I'm still running OEM subframe, gearbox, rear diff and engine mounts (apart from an apikol rear diff mount).]
So, what am I saying... well, if you drive mostly on the road, go ahead and fit billies and HnR - they work a treat - but keep the all the bushes OEM or else. You need some compliance somewhere!
