probably the hub to strut bolts were no tight enough and it has slipped.
If the ball joint had slipped, the bottom of the tyre would have come outwards

or what error says, or the subframe is into full right position.

will make the car pull funny and generally feel crap! make sure once they have adjusted the tracking that everything is fully tightened back up to recomended torque settings as stated by error they can slip.

In my experiace our cars can go out of alignment very easily if potholes and the like are encountered.

A down side to being fully adjustable

I had the same thing, do all measurements from subframe out to end of hubs, body work is not a reliable referance point. Found out one of my wings is nearly 6mm different from the other so makes wheels look well out when infact they are fine. My car has been repaired in it's history at some point and the wings are out not the wheels

              .

And if all else fails, check the ET on the wheels is the same on both sides.
