    PAS pump cap o-rings

Hi all, the large +Headed round screw in cap on the top of my pas pump is leaking fluid again having already replaced the o-ring.

Does anyone know if they are still available from audi or anywhere else?
The old one was so hard and flat there was no telling what size it should be.

Also the fluid currently in the resevoir is red in colour, im guessing it should be the green stuff only from the dealers. Green resevoir cap - green fluid?

    Its a 3b.

    Cheers

The fluid should most definitely be green. Red will rot the seals in the system, not a good start. I would change soonest for the correct Audi fluid. If you do a search there should be a part number for the kit. If not contact S2avant on here (Ben) he works at TPS and can advise...

    Cheers,

    Steve.

      026 145 541 is the X plug with O-ring.

Not sure of the O-ring part number on its own as it's not listed.

A general seal supplier should be able to help

My advice is to buy o-ring from material called viton.
I had the same problem and only this had helped me.

You could try finding a alloy sump plug washer to fit

              PAS pumpery

It hasnt leaked for a while now, not even any weeping of fluid.

I reused the x-cap and found another suitable o-ring at work. I think the cause of the leak the second time was because i didnt have the x-cap tight enough.

In the end i used a medium length pry bar as a large screwdriver and a spanner on the shaft of it to get it tightened down properly.

Which reminds me i MUST get the correct green fluid in it

I would advise you to buy the kit from Audi and a spare bottle of fluid for when it does fail, I tried various types of o ring and they all failed ! resulting in a lot of fluid everywhere

Now 3 years and not a problem
