That is the best shout yet and would make some sense. Anyone care to look in the F.A. for me please?

Late bump now that I have go my **** in gear and taken photos.

If you see these strengthening webs on a subframe DO NOT try and fit it to your S2!

Hey Steve, slightly off-topic, but is that the finish you get from POR15?

        Cheers n

Yes, that is POR15 Chassis black. (This was after wire brushing and some Bilt Hamber hydrate 80 first).

          Cheers,

its odd I don't understand why they bothered strengthening this subframe, presuming its for a V6 cab, its attached to the car via rubber bushes so I can't see it adds any rigidity to the chassis
....unless the chassis flexed that much between the subframe mounting points they needed to help stop the subframe cracking!

              It is possible isn't it!

They do suffer from scuttle shake apparently.

I use a different method which is easy and quick, Drill a hole through the rubber at 1 side of the bush, increase driss size until it has cut through the outer metal ring of the bush, hit with hammer, Doing the rear of my car at the moment, Upper rear wishbones need a 11 mm hole to weaken the outer ring sufficiently, does not mark the wishbone at all

Holesaw will be a PITA as it generates heat and grabs
