Front Subframe Difference Between V6 And S2?

Hi all


Hoping in correct forum

There was someone, who found that his replacement subframe was from a v6 and there was clearance problems with his S2?

Could the person / or someone in the know .... please advise me what clearance issues are....

I got a spare v6 subframe , but on customers car is badly corroded, and got pulled up by mot man.......looking at the two i can see the extra support on the v6 one .hw easy is it to remove the extra metal?

Car is a stock 6 speed with std exhaust

It could have been me. I found the downpipe did not clear the extra bracing "webs" or supporting brackets on the V6 subframe (or possibly the cabriolet) I am not 100% sure. IMO they could be cut off and dressed clean and maintain the structrual integrity of the subframe, but I have not done it personally. I refurbed my orignal one instead and still have the V6 one which is no good to me now.
