    serious wandering when windy

does anyone else have this issue? only when its windy its as if the wind is getting under the car and just throwing it all over the place. it feels planted when calm at any speed, hard cornering etc but give it some wind and i'd feel safer in a citroen ax or a high sided transit its a b3 90 quattro, h&r blue springs, s2 front bumper and no undertray. its also now running a 1.8t rather than the 5 cylinder that the suspension is ment for... i have noticed that the passenger side sits a good 2" higher on the front than the drivers side but it still feels good (other than when windy)
    any ideas?

The fact that your suspension does not sit level is a pointer.
I would suspect springs, drop links on the anti roll bar and tracking.
The fact that you now do not have the same load on the front springs with the lighter 1.8 may be a factor also. Is your tracking OK ?
If you a have a tiny bit of toe out on the front it will wonder in the wind especially if the springs bushes and other suspension parts are not up to scratch.

Normally i would say tracking, but sort the ride height issue first. Uneven height side to side is usually a collapsed top mount, but 9/10 times its the passenger side that fails first. Also worth checking the springs for breaks, it has happened to a few people with H&R Blues, BTDT.
