    Front end knock

I've recentley developed an occasional knocking noise from the front end. It only happens when you initially press the brake pedal hard or come off the accelerator quickly. I've had a quick look underneath and couldn't see anything obviously wrong. Is there anything specific I should look for?

My remote diagnosic psychic sock puppet tells me that it might be the top mounts , might want to take the plastic suspension top covers off to see the gap thats there:

Or my sock puppet could be completely wrong, and it might be a snub mount on the front of the engine.

Gap is noticeable on the left side and probably over a cm on the right. I guess it's time to change them?

Also get a slight snagging noise when going to full lock on the right. Could it be linked?

If its very worn then yep it could be moving in the top mount.

If this is accelearion and brake related my gut tells me look at the snub mount and also the engine mounts.

Check the IC for any pulley contact

My remote diagnosic psychic sock puppet tells me that it might be a cracked vacuum feed going to the ECU.

Here are some pictures. Even if it doesn't solve the problem they look like they need replacing anyway.

Where is the best place to get them from?

Their knackered, quttrocorner is probably a good place to get new ones.
