steering rack repair

well the problem is that I need to rebuilt my steering rack.
the car is audi 200 20v, and same steering rack use audi 100 c3, c4 and a6.

did someone of you ever rebuilt it? is there any repair kit on market ? and how to do it?
did I need some special tool for it?

tried it on my s2 servotronic. but failed big time. isnt easy to get the alu plug in the end of without breaking it.

so if you have the same steering rack i have a repair kit.

it is not same like s2 , there are all different parts.
only audi 100 (c2,c3,c4 a6) ,200 (c2,c3) and audi V8 have simular steering rack.

Is there a quick rack option on these cars. My urs4 is slooow in the steering department.

is your steering rack hard or slow?
I saw that audi v8 rack have more teeth than 200 20v , now I don't know how it have od s4.
if have more teeth that mean - they are slower . am I right?

Mine is easy enough to turn, its just there are to many turns lock to lock. Almost 4 I think. If the pinion was larger with more teeth I suppose the rack would be quicker with less turns. I don't want a race rack with 2 turns, but arround 3 feels good.

The c4/t44 steering racks are 3,5 turns. I have not come across any faster. For the overhaul, there is quite good walkthrough found in Finnish Audi-forum. You can try to run this through google translate, it may or may not help somewhat. But the pics are good anyways:
