Anyone know the OEM part number for the rear shocks.
    The car is a 1994M S6 avant 2.2.

The UrS6 avant rear shock PN is 4A9513031D. A set (of 4) Bilstein shocks would do you well. Otherwise Boge Turbo Gas or Sachs.

Phoned just about everyware trying to find a rear shock, and cannot find anyone that has them in stock.I did find one at a local motor factor, listed as the right one for the car,but it was differant.the measurement from the centre of the bottom hole to the disk that holds the spring was 155mm, mine is 170mm,so I am real need of some help and advise as to what to do.
I dont want to lower the car as its a problem now with the exhaust hitting everything but a flys ****.
I would change both rear shocks and springs, for a differant car if I could find out what would fit, and not flop about, the car is only used as my workhorse/daily driver,I have my s2 for fun.
If anyone can offer any hekp or addvise,I would be very greatful,

How does your exhaust hit everything? Are you sure it's not lowered already? IME the S4 and S6 ride pretty high as standard and benefit greatly from sensible lowering and uprating.

By the way if it helps, the suspension is the same across all the urS4/S6s avant and saloon.

If all else fails get a matching set from someone breaking an S4 or S6. I'm sure Will @ VRS could help!

Have you tried an Audi dealer at all? Some parts are reasonably priced, some not so.

The rear shocks for the avant are a different part number to the saloons.

The only cars that use 4A9 513 031 D is the 100 S4 avant and S6 avant with AAN engines. All other engine variants use different parts
